Therapy for TRAUMA AND PTSD
Support for people affected by distressing experiences, including childhood trauma, relationship trauma, accidents, violence, or other overwhelming events.
-
You may be struggling with memories of something that happened, feeling constantly on edge, or noticing that past experiences affect your relationships and daily life. You don’t need a PTSD diagnosis or certainty that what happened “counts” as trauma to seek support.
-
After an overwhelming experience, your mind and body may continue responding as though danger is still present. You might understand that you’re safe yet find it difficult to feel that way. Therapy can help you make sense of these responses and work toward feeling safer in the present.
-
You might experience unwanted memories, nightmares, disrupted sleep, or strong reactions to reminders of what happened. You may avoid certain situations, feel disconnected from others, or carry guilt and shame. People respond differently, and therapy offers space to understand your experience without judgment.
-
Your needs and goals guide the work. Therapy may focus on feeling more grounded, managing overwhelming emotions, processing difficult memories, or rebuilding trust in yourself and others. Together, we work toward reducing the impact of the past so you have more freedom in your life today.
-
You may worry that talking will make things worse or that you’ll have to share every detail. You can begin with what feels manageable. Your therapist will explain the options, work with you to build coping tools, and involve you in decisions about how and when to approach difficult experiences.
